Macro is open to emerging and professional photographers in New Orleans and Washington, D.C., who want to share the diversity of their city through their work.
You can join Macro by applying through this form. We’ll ask to you to tell us about yourself and show us a sample of your work. We will not use any sample photos you provide. Please note: at this time, we’re only adding one photographer per month to Macro.
If we accept your application, we will pay you a fee for 50 to 75 of your photos. You’ll receive payment within 10 business days after we receive your photos.
We’ll pay you $1,000 for your photos. If you use props we’ll reimburse you up to $200. (You must provide receipts to receive props payment.) Additionally, you may use a maximum of 3 models and will receive payment of $200 per model.
Photographers are paid via PayPal or check, whichever you prefer! Please note that PayPal payments may be subject to a temporary hold (we do not control this hold).
Once accepted, we’ll send you a private folder where you can upload your photos. You may also share them through a private sharing service of your choice.
They will live on the Macro website.
The photos will be distributed with a CC BY-SA 4.0 license meaning that people will be able to utilize them as they see fit, even for commercial purposes, provided they attribute the work to you and use the same license. We believe that this will provide the best chance for the photos to be widely distributed.
Photos can be shot on any camera as long as they can be converted to downloadable high-quality image files.
